Many realized that the upside potential for HDB common housing is limited, in particular when the property is getting older. They have made the switch to private property which has seen increasing demand and price.
Many thought that to have a roof over their head in a HDB is good enough. They feel the pain when they witness their peers who started at the same footing accomplishing a huge amount of savings and profit by buying private property at the same time.
Some may still choose to live in denial, believing that they can only afford a HDB and they will still be able to retire when they downsize their HDB in their later years. Let's keep our fingers crossed to that belief.
